Forever Written

My experience with the local church has been a totally marvelous one. For many years, my love for the Lord was weak, almost non-existent. I was saved, but didn't have a personal loving relationship with Christ.

Leaving home for college was the first time I had been away from home and my parents. I was scared. Where I went to school, there was a meeting of the church in Austin in that city. Being with the believers there, I discovered that I had many mothers and fathers as the Lord promised in the Gospels. The atmosphere of love and caring was like nothing I had ever seen. They invited me over for delicious meals which sure beat the cafeteria food I was eating. They gave me rides and helped me with problems I was having in school. But the most memorable experiences are those of our enjoyment of our dear Lord Jesus. In the larger meetings and especially in the home meetings, I enjoyed Christ with them.

By their living, caring, and spiritual fellowship I was drawn to love the Lord like I never had before. I have since graduated and moved away, yet they are forever written on my heart.

A Specific Christ

The ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee have brought me into wonderful and enjoyable experiences of Christ. The more I read and study what they have written about the Word of God, the more Christ is revealed in me (Gal. 1:16). Years ago my experience of Christ was vague and general. But through the help of these two Christians writers, I have begun to experience Christ in specific ways.

In the past my experience of Christ was limited because I didn't know the Bible nor the Christ revealed in it. But the ministries of these brothers have unlocked the Bible and have revealed an unsearchably rich Christ (Eph. 3:8). Now, almost everyday I experience Christ in definite ways. I experience Him as the Shepherd caring for me, as the Physician healing me, and as living waters supplying me. What a Christ I have!
